He came to stay at our house and I found out the story behind it so I let him stay at our house until he could get back on his feet. Various of shopping mall where gunman Robert Hawkins opened fire\u003cbr/\u003eA man opened fire with a rifle at a busy department store on Wednesday, killing eight people before taking his own life, in an attack that sent holiday shoppers running and screaming through an Omaha, Nebraska shopping mall. \u003cbr/\u003eRobert Hawkins had a history of depression but seemed to be doing better since moving in with a friend's family just over a year ago. \u003cbr/\u003eBut about two weeks ago he broke up with his longterm girlfriend, and this week he was fired from his job at a fast-food restaurant, said a woman whose family took Hawkins in. \u003cbr/\u003e\"He came to stay with our house and I found out the story behind it so I let him stay at our house 'till he could get back on his feet.\"\u003cbr/\u003eOn Wednesday, the 19-year-old killed eight people and himself in a shooting rampage at an Omaha shopping mall, police said. \u003cbr/\u003eDebora Maruca-Kovac, whose teenage sons had befriended Hawkins, said she and her husband let Hawkins\u003cbr/\u003estay with them after he was kicked out of his family's house. \u003cbr/\u003e\"He came to stay at our house and I found out the story behind it so I let him stay at our house until he could get back on his feet,\" she said. \u003cbr/\u003eOfficers visited the house where he was living, as they started an investigation into the shooting.\u003cbr/\u003e\"He was a depressed person.
