Mid of Russian flag, zoom out to band playing\u003cbr/\u003eThe human rights organisation Amnesty International staged a protest outside the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC on Friday in support for three feminists on trial in Russia for performing a \"punk prayer\" against President Vladimir Putin.\u003cbr/\u003eThe women - all members of the punk band Pussy Riot - have been behind bars for more than five months and face up to three years in prison if convicted of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred.\u003cbr/\u003e\"They're not guilty of any crime,\" said Amnesty International's Frank Januzzi on Friday.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Their only action was one of freedom of expression. So they don't deserve to be in jail, they deserve to be celebrated as artists,\" he added.\u003cbr/\u003eDozens of people turned up to protest - some wearing brightly-coloured ski masks, an homage to the band's signature outfit.\u003cbr/\u003eThe prosecution of the women has led to protests from rights groups who have declared them prisoners of conscience, as well as an outpouring of sympathy and support from musicians and activists around the world.\u003cbr/\u003eMadonna, who performed in Moscow and St Petersburg as part of her world tour, expressed her support for Pussy Riot at a concert in Moscow on Tuesday, saying she'd \"pray for them.\"\u003cbr/\u003eShe then turned her bare back, which had \"Pussy Riot\" written on it, and donned a ski mask similar to those worn by the band.\u003cbr/\u003eThe trial has also been seen as part of the widening government crackdown on dissent in Russia and has been widely criticised.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Unfortunately, what we see is a
