will influence debate when a successor to the Kyoto Protocol is negotiated.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Kyoto agreement expires in 2012 and a new deal on cutting emissions, controlling future emission and possibly even repairing damage done by global warming, is expected.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile the US and Australia haven't ratified Kyoto, and some developing countries never joined the negotiations, delegates anticipate a successor to that agreement will involve all major nations.\u003cbr/\u003eBut developing nations want the world to recognise that the build-up in greenhouse gases is not their fault, and that while they are happy to reduce their future emissions, they will need help from the developed world.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We are looking for technology transfer, mainly those technologies should be transferred to the developing countries, because we do not have the funds to develop these technologies,\" Chandrapala said.\u003cbr/\u003eAs the IPCC report is being negotiated this week, developing countries say it should reflect a dreadful reality; that they will be hit worse by a warming world and they need help to deal with it.\u003cbr/\u003eThe report from the UN network of two-thousand scientists is being debated this week by delegates from more than 120 governments.\u003cbr/\u003eA final version of the report was expected by Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eThe heart of the report calls for the world to embrace a basket of technological options, including investing in energy efficiency, shifting away from coal and reforming the agriculture sector.\u003cbr/\u003eIt also calls for the temperature rise to be limited to to two degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and avert the worst impacts of climate change.\u003cbr/\u003eBut as they listen to the discussion the first two days, countries from Africa, Asia and some island nations say they are still waiting to hear how the report will address their fears of impending droughts, floods and violent storms.\u003cbr/\u003eTwo previous IPCC reports this year painted a dire picture of a future in which unabated greenhouse gas emissions could drive global temperatures up as much as six degrees Celsius (11 degrees Fahrenheit) by 2100. \u003cbr/\u003eEven a two degree Celsius rise could subject up to two (b) billion people, mostly in the developing world, to water shortages by 2050 and threaten extinction for 20 percent to 30 percent of the world's species, the IPCC said.\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the reports concluded that global warming could increase the number of hungry in the world in 2080 by between 140 (m) million and one (b) billion by contributing to widespread droughts and flooding.\u003cbr/\u003eDiseases such as malaria, diarrhoea and dengue fever could spread as
