He's very playful, he's up for very different ways of communicating his work.\"\u003cbr/\u003eNot surprisingly Hawking's greatest wish is to fly into space.\u003cbr/\u003eHe was given a taste of just what that felt like when he was offered a chance to experience zero gravity in a jet which allowed him to experience weightlessness for around 25 seconds.\u003cbr/\u003eHis friends and family say pictures from that moment show the joy he felt to be moving outside of his wheelchair.\u003cbr/\u003eThat moment is also captured for the exhibition.\u003cbr/\u003eHe's been confined to a wheelchair since 1970. \u003cbr/\u003eHe now communicates only by twitching his right eye. \u003cbr/\u003eSince catching pneumonia in 1985, he has needed around-the-clock care and relies on a computer and voice synthesiser to speak.\u003cbr/\u003eA tiny infrared sensor sits on his glasses, hooked up to a computer. \u003cbr/\u003eThe sensor detects muscle pulses which select words displayed on a computer screen based on a process of elimination. \u003cbr/\u003eIt can take him up to 10 minutes to form a single response.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to Boyle the Space Exploration gallery is the perfect place for the Hawking exhibition.\u003cbr/\u003eShe says \"we felt that the space gallery was a really appropriate location for the display about Hawking because in the gallery you will find explorations of the planets and beyond, you will find a piece of moon rock and you will find a large display looking at climatic conditions around the world.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to Boyle \"the gallery both explains the exploratory side of Hawking, it also represents his interest in the planets.
