We will do so partly through development assistance and direct financial aid. counterpart from New Zealand, Phil Goff.\u003cbr/\u003eChristian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot and their Syrian driver disappeared on August 20 during a trip to the southern Iraqi city of Najaf. \u003cbr/\u003eA group called \"The Islamic Army in Iraq\" claimed to hold the men and demanded that France revoke a new law banning Islamic head scarves from state schools. \u003cbr/\u003eFrance refused and the law went into effect as planned earlier this month.\u003cbr/\u003eIraq dominated Friday's talks between Barnier and Goff.\u003cbr/\u003eThe latter used the news conference to talk about the return of 61 New Zealand engineers who have been based in Basra in southern Iraq.\u003cbr/\u003eGoff maintained his government was still willing to redeploy forces for reconstruction and
