Wide shot finale of performance at The Cavern Club, zoom in to Spike Edney hugging band\u003cbr/\u003eEver wanted to be a real life rock and roll star - recording at the famous Abbey Road studios in London before gigging the night away at the Cavern club in Liverpool?\u003cbr/\u003eWell, now you can.\u003cbr/\u003eA cool ten thousand dollars can get you inside the Rock'n Roll Fantasy camp to jam alongside real life music legends. \u003cbr/\u003eIt's the music world's most iconic crossing. \u003cbr/\u003eEver since appearing on the infamous Beatles album, Abbey Road has become a pilgrimage site for fans around the world.\u003cbr/\u003eMore important than the crossing is the building just next to it: Abbey Road studios, where legends like the Beatles and Pink Floyd recorded their albums.\u003cbr/\u003eBut whereas most fans have to stay outside the gates of the legendary studios, a few lucky amateurs  now have the opportunity to enter the premises and record their own song inside.\u003cbr/\u003eThey're taking part in a Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp.\u003cbr/\u003eFor one week, 30 music lovers have the chance to rehearse with rock stars and record at Abbey Road.\u003cbr/\u003eUnder the guidance of established rock legends like Alan White (Yes), Spike Edney (Queen and other bands) and Mike Ralphs (Bad Company), the participants are put into bands and get tutorials.\u003cbr/\u003eIn true musician style, they jam, rehearse and eventually record their songs throughout the week.\u003cbr/\u003eTo top it all off, the participants end up performing at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, - the club of the same name that the Beatles took their first steps to fame in.\u003cbr/\u003ePete Naslund, who is a lawyer from Sweden, says it's a dream come true.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The name Rock'n Roll Fantasy is what it's all about and most people here they have jobs within business, their own companies and enjoying, loving music and coming here is a fantasy and a dream to stand in Abbey Road and record,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eThe participants come from all kinds of backgrounds.\u003cbr/\u003eJeff Miller, who is a music booking agent in real life, says he's joined the camp to see what it's like to be a rock star.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Well it's quite interesting because the concept of being a rock star is not as easy as just actually then going and doing it. So it's fun for me to get out from behind the desk and up here and perform and record etc with real rock stars, which I'm used to being around but from the other side of the coin,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eThis band is rehearsing with 'Yes' member Alan White, who is taking part for the 4th time as counsellor.\u003cbr/\u003eThe rocker moved his own band's tour dates to take part in this summer's camp.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says his fellow 'Yes' members don't really understand what he does at Rock Camp, and they like to wind him up about it.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, White says Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp is a rewarding experience.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's satisfying at the end of the period here when you can get a band to all play together and create something new like we're doing today here, and then you've got a product at the end that you can be proud of hopefully,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eRock'n Roll Fantasy Camp creator David Fishof came up with the idea in 1997.\u003cbr/\u003eAs former tour producer, which included a reunion tour of the Monkees, Fishof used his connections in the music world to kick start his Fantasy Rock Camp venture.\u003cbr/\u003eThis is the 3rd Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp at Abbey Road studios, an achievement Fishof is proud of.\u003cbr/\u003eIt took him a full 10 years to get his rock camp into the legendary studios.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter repeatedly being rejected by Abbey Road studios, it was his musician friend Spencer Davis who managed to convince the recording house to let the fantasy campers in.\u003cbr/\u003eOver the years, Fishof has involved star councillors like Bruce Kulick (KISS), Chris Slade (AC/DC) and Gibly Clarke (Guns 'N Roses).\u003cbr/\u003eHe says that what makes Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp work is the enthusiasm from both participants and councillors.\u003cbr/\u003e\"To me the success of the camp is not only that the campers and the participants enjoy it, is the rock stars love it. To them it's a life-changing experience and I think that that's what makes the camp successful, that they want to come and they want to teach and they want to give back because these are the fans that really, you know, have supported them for years and they have so much knowledge and they do it every day that they want to share their knowledge,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile Alan White's band is still recording at Abbey Road, another fantasy rock band is rehearsing across town at The Joint.\u003cbr/\u003eThese wanna-be rockers are being instructed by Spike Edney, who has sometimes been described as the fifth member of Queen, for collaborating with the band since 1984.\u003cbr/\u003eEdney is an enthusiastic but strict tutor, who shows his band that being a rock star involves hard work and commitment.\u003cbr/\u003eNow taking part in his 6th camp, he says it wasn't until Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp that he realised he was a good teacher.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I didn't realize that I had something to pass on to other people because I spent my life just doing my job playing the piano and organizing professional musicians. And the idea of dealing with amateurs was a little bit daunting in a way because you're taking over the teaching role. And you think 'what can I possibly tell them that's going to be of any use to them?' As you find out they're like sponges, you know, it must be like how a kindergarten teacher feels, you know, you're giving out this stuff and they're soaking it up and they want more and more and more and then you realize that you've got more and more to tell them,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eEdney adds that the camp is also a bonding experience.\u003cbr/\u003eA participant in the second band Edney coached ended up forming his own band, The Seattle White Socks, and asked Spike to join it.\u003cbr/\u003eSo he did. \u003cbr/\u003eThe campers/rockers in Edney's band are enjoying the rehearsals, so much that some cut short their lunch break to return to their instruments.\u003cbr/\u003eBut the experience doesn't come cheap, at $10,000 US Dollars these aspiring rockers have to dig deep into their pockets to take part in the camp.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, one of them didn't.\u003cbr/\u003eBill Brooks, an IT security consultant from New Jersey, won his place in the London Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp in a Philadelphia radio station contest, where he managed to answer the most rock'n roll trivia.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says he still can't believe he is taking part in this experience.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I was telling Spike when I got back to my hotel room last night, I sat down on the bed and started reflecting on it. I mean if you can imagine being in Abbey Road studios and recording a Beatles tune, is about the best thing that anybody can ever want to do and I don't think I'll be able to top that, I don't think I want to top it,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eSome enjoy the Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp so much that they keep on returning and returning.\u003cbr/\u003eThis is Jon Weiswasser's 6th camp.\u003cbr/\u003eThe vascular surgeon received his first rock camp as a gift for his 40th birthday from his wife.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says that ever since his first camp, he's checked into the rock life.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Ever since then I've been going full throttle with it, so I practice two hours a day, I'm in four bands at home, I do a lot of recording and playing out and it's really, it's really, I mean to say that rock camp is a life-changing experience for me truly was a reality, it's not a cliche at all,\" says Weiswasser.\u003cbr/\u003eAt the end of the week, the rock'n roll campers are in for their final treat: performing at the legendary Cavern club in Liverpool. \u003cbr/\u003eSome of the participants' friends and family are attending to cheer them on at the gig of their lifetimes.\u003cbr/\u003eFishof says that Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp really is about bringing passion back into people's lives.\u003cbr/\u003e\"You know most people have mundane jobs and they're bored, and you know, with what they do.
