If they made history then they need to be celebrated for their historical accomplishments, not for who they slept with.\"\u003cbr/\u003eBack in the Gay History Museum Rojas-Caroll is learning about Harvey Milk at one of the exhibitions, including his campaign t-shirts, loudhailer and personal photos.\u003cbr/\u003eShe is leaving California this Autumn to attend University but is looking forward to future generations of students enjoying the education she was denied.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We never should''ve been excluded in the first place but it''s great that we are now going to be included,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eThe new Gay History curriculum requirement will come into effect in the 2013-14 school year.\u003cbr/\u003eThe new law also requires California public schools to teach the contributions of disabled people.\u003cbr/\u003eCalifornia law already requires schools to teach about women, African Americans, Mexican Americans, entrepreneurs, Asian Americans, European Americans, American Indians and labour.\u003cbr/\u003eThe legislation leaves it to local school boards to decide how to implement the requirement.
