eastern border in the past two weeks, though the numbers were uncertain because bombings on the Sudanese side had made it too dangerous for workers to go to the border since Monday.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the latest bout of the low-level insurgencies that have beset oil-rich Chad for nearly a decade, rebels from eastern Chad battled government forces in the capital for three days in early February
