and the Monumental is its last functioning ring.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Spanish public is deeply divided over the bullfight, some claim it is part of a deep-rooted cultural heritage, others think it is a barbaric blood sport with no place in a civilised democracy.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Catalan Parliament banned the spectacle in July 2010 following a signature-collection campaign by animal rights activists.\u003cbr/\u003eBut critics say the ban is less about animal welfare and more a snub to Spain by independence-minded Catalans.\u003cbr/\u003eSoraya Gaston, one of the anti-bullfight
