Wide shot of audience \u003cbr/\u003eFormer US Secretary of State James Baker says America should be ready to get tough on North Korea following the latest revelations of Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programme. \u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking at a business conference in Los Angeles on Friday, Baker said actions by the communist North Korean regime \"make the case\" for getting tough not only with Pyongyang but also with Iraq.     \u003cbr/\u003eNorth Korea told the Bush administration of its nuclear program on October 4. US officials concealed the news for nearly two weeks before it was leaked to the news media.\u003cbr/\u003eOver the years, the US government has tried the threat of war, sanctions, and billions of dollars in aid to dissuade North Korea from pursuing various arms programmes.\u003cbr/\u003eIn 1994 under then President Bill Clinton, the US and North Korea signed an accord in which Pyonyang pledged to dismantle its nuclear weapons program in return for construction of two light-water reactors, financed mostly by South Korea and Japan.\u003cbr/\u003eBaker says that accord was a mistake, and says it's time to return to a \"muscular\" policy of dealing with North Korea. \u003cbr/\u003eFormer Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak also says the US should be tough on Iraq and leader Saddam Hussein.
