It's about kids being able to have the ability and the chance to get off the streets and have fun and come down.\" \u003cbr/\u003eAfter years of superstardom just about everywhere else on the planet, David Beckham finally got star treatment in the United States. \u003cbr/\u003eA movie-premiere line's worth of media -- dozens of reporters and photographers -- crammed a conference room Thursday in Los Angeles at The Home Depot Center stadium to hear Beckham discuss his latest venture: a Los Angeles branch of The David Beckham Academy, which is already operating in London. Set to open Thanksgiving weekend, the Los Angeles academy promises to be the state-of-the-art soccer school in the United States. Now, American children can learn to bend it like Beckham.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's really important to me because it's an academy that kids can come down,\" Beckham told Associated Press Television News. \"It's not about elitism. The kids are invited or the kids apply to the website and come down to the soccer academy. It's about kids coming down, getting off the streets, having fun. If we find great new talent, then that's good. But the most important thing, the kids coming down, they're learning about football, they're learning about their body and injuries that you can get. And, also, they're having fun.\"\u003cbr/\u003eBeckham, 30, confirmed reports he was seriously considering a permanent move to the United States, to play here professionally before wrapping his career on the field. \"Yeah, I think it's always a possibility,\" he said. \"In my career, things have happened and situations have happened and I never ever thought that I'd be playing anywhere apart from England, but I'm playing in Spain now, and there is an opportunity to come to America, and I am thinking about it, definitely.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHe admitted he has been enjoying the freedom that has come with a relatively lower profile stateside. \"But this has been more (attention) than I've ever had it, in America. So, it's been nice . . . the positivity has been incredible to me, towards my family. That's one of the things I like about America, the positivity towards the sportsmen and the great sportsmen that you've got, so, to have a little bit of that is special for me.\"\u003cbr/\u003eBeckham is on the road just three months after the birth of son Cruz, his third child with former Spice Girls singer Victoria \"Posh Spice\" Beckham. \"Three is definitely different than two,\" Beckham noted. \"The middle one, you know, he's hard.
