for the September 11 attacks in the United States.\u003cbr/\u003eUnited States officials have stated that they want to prosecute Bin Laden under U.S. law if he is found alive.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutor Carla Del Ponte's comments echoed those of Afghan interim leader Hamid Karzai, who was also in Rome on Wednesday.\u003cbr/\u003eDel Ponte added that an international tribunal would be an ideal way to conduct a trial against Bin Laden, considering the magnitude of the September 11 attacks.\u003cbr/\u003eDel Ponte was speaking after a conference to discuss the possible judicial measures to be taken against Bin Laden and Al Qaida terrorists. \u003cbr/\u003eThe conference was held at the headquarters of the Italian Radical Party by the 'Hands Off Cain' organisation.\u003cbr/\u003eAlso attending were photographer Oliviero Toscani, Radical MEP (Member of the European Parliament) Marco Pannella and lawyer Annabel Hall, a member of the U.S. National Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers.
