The Spanish buyer is believed to be acting on behalf of a Hong Kong collector who was willing to go up to 10,000†¬ (12,369 US Dollars).  \u003cbr/\u003eBidding against the Hong Kong collector was Sonia Pages who was attempting to purchase the strand for her father's museum of hairdressing. \u003cbr/\u003e'My father has one hairdresser company, Rafael Pagès. The Beatles' photographer Robert Whitaker, was invited by Salvador Dalí to visit his home at Port Lligat in 1967 where they conceived various projects between 1967 and 1972.
