achieving.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd for some the annual Ideal Home show in London is the place to showcase their work drawn from daily life and the spiritual.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Ideal Home Show 2009 is celebrating ten years of design awards for graduate students\u003cbr/\u003eThe aim of the competition is 'to recognise imagination, creativity and technical expertise amongst design students at Britain's Universities and Colleges, and reward innovation at the earliest stage of a young designer's career.'  \u003cbr/\u003eThousands of young designers submitted their ideas hoping to get their designs realised into working models.  \u003cbr/\u003eA selection of designs were chosen to be put on display, and during the event thousands of visitors and design professionals will have the incorporates a reading light and chair in one, and a 'Bench /Table' that incorporates a table and bench combination.\u003cbr/\u003eCurator Karoline Newman says new design thinking is important and brings fresh ideas to the industry. \u003cbr/\u003eNewman says young designers can influence how we furnish our homes.  \u003cbr/\u003eGlasgow school of art designer Hamish Bigg created the Lu-Me Lamp. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Lu-Me lamp is an interactive lighting system that can be adjusted anywhere in your home, allowing you to change the mood by having different combinations of lights.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe rechargeable, energy saving LED units have two magnetic terminals.  \u003cbr/\u003eWhen bridged by any metal surface, the circuit is connected and the light turns on. \u003cbr/\u003eBigg wanted to use lights that are not fixed, so can slide anywhere on the metal tracks.  \u003cbr/\u003eHe says he looked at the lighting market and realised it was static and wanted to create a light that was more fun and interactive. \u003cbr/\u003eCamilla Sundwall is a tableware designer from Saint Martins Central School of Art in London. \u003cbr/\u003eOriginally from Gothenburg, Sweden, Camilla designs kitchenware instruments including a Whistling Water Vessel, Singing Bowl and Ringing Glasses.  \u003cbr/\u003e'Music of the Spheres' is a range of interactive kitchenware that aims to create a dining experience where you fully engage all your senses.  \u003cbr/\u003eSundwall says she was inspired by sounds that affect the body and the mind.  \u003cbr/\u003eSarah Turner, a design student from Nottingham Trent University, designed a lamp out of recycled plastic bottles.  \u003cbr/\u003eTurner says she collects drinks bottles from cafes and sandblasts them to create a mist effect.  \u003cbr/\u003eShe then cuts the bottles up to form decorative forms.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe innovations captured the imagination of many visitors to the show. \u003cbr/\u003eThe young designers showcasing their work hope their talent will be discovered by international companies. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Ideal Home show is also running a design competition that is open to everyone called 'Innovation Nation'\u003cbr/\u003eThe winner of that design competition will win �1000 ($1450 US Dollars). \u003cbr/\u003eThe EDF Energy Ideal Home Show runs from 20th March
