force since a truce between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas was agreed three weeks ago. \u003cbr/\u003eItalian marines wearing blue berets arrived by helicopter in the Mediterranean port city of Tyre to secure two beaches where the remainder of an 880-strong battalion of Italian soldiers will land through the day. \u003cbr/\u003eAnother 200 Italian troops are expected on Sunday in the capital, Beirut. \u003cbr/\u003eLocals stood on the beach watching the helicopters arrive.\u003cbr/\u003eFahmad Ali, a Tyre resident told Associated Press Television that he welcomed the UN troops as they Israeli forces withdraw from positions they took last month, leaving behind a buffer zone between Israel and Hezbollah.\u003cbr/\u003eThe presence of more UN troops in Lebanon may help calm fears of a renewal of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel. \u003cbr/\u003eFrench General Alain Pelegrini, who currently heads the UNIFIL mission, told assembled media in Tyre on Saturday that the ceasefire was fragile and that certain violations had taken place, since the ceasefire came in to effect.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, the peacekeepers will stay out of the most sensitive issues, both demanded by Israel: disarming Hezbollah and keeping the guerrillas from receiving fresh arms, especially via Lebanon's border with Syria.\u003cbr/\u003eItaly is contributing a 2,500-strong contingent to the expanded UNIFIL force, the largest national contingent so far committed.\u003cbr/\u003eEurope is providing the backbone of the force and has promised 6,900 soldiers. \u003cbr/\u003eItaly's only
