Close up of garlic noodles\u003cbr/\u003eMenus that claim to boost the immune system are being promoted by some restaurants in California.\u003cbr/\u003eThe US state has been on the forefront of restaurants devoted to raw food and is seen as the birthplace of the organic produce movement.\u003cbr/\u003eGinger, garlic, aubergine, basil and parsley.\u003cbr/\u003eThese vegetables don't only taste good, but some nutritionists also claim they're beneficial for our immune systems.\u003cbr/\u003eSo called, immunity boosting \"functional\" foods, full of vitamins and antioxidants, are becoming more and more popular in LA.\u003cbr/\u003eVietnamese restaurant Crustacean is serving a selection of such immunity boosting dishes, like salmon tartar and mussels with parsley.\u003cbr/\u003eCrustacean is a family business, run by Hannah An and her mother Helen.\u003cbr/\u003eHannah An creates the menu with the help of a nutritionist, to make sure she chooses the dishes with the most healthful benefits and ingredients.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile cooking, they use ingredients such as ginger, herbs and parsley and a Vietnamese ingredient called tiato, a herb now grown in California.\u003cbr/\u003eUsing lots of Shitake mushrooms, garlic and onions, the restaurant is known for its garlic noodles as well as its rice paper spring roll.\u003cbr/\u003eTofu chowder and wild salmon tartar feature cucumbers, wild salmon, garlic and red onion and support the immune system.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We want to make sure that has at least several ingredients that are anti-oxidant and immune enhancing.
