It's the time of year when people think 'actually, let's go ahead and keep shopping'. We're lucky the kind of consumer we attract to the fair. I would like to think that they're probably a little bit less affected with the current economy. But from exhibitors the feedback is that people are still spending.\"\u003cbr/\u003e40. Pan of people at the fair\u003cbr/\u003eWith the festive season looming large, the UK's Spirit of Christmas Show is the shopper's antidote to the winter blues.\u003cbr/\u003eThis year's trend is for traditional, quality decorations in red, gold and silver. \u003cbr/\u003eTraditional handicrafts and ethical decorations are the vogue at this year's Spirit of Christmas show in London.\u003cbr/\u003eOrganisers believe that fears of another bout of recession won't deter shoppers spending their hard-earned cash.\u003cbr/\u003eBut tacky plastic baubles and gaudy Christmas tinsel have taken a backseat this season.\u003cbr/\u003eJulia Page, of show sponsors House and Garden Magazine, believes that handmade gifts, and quality goods are a key trend:\u003cbr/\u003e\"When you at trends it's always hard to decide what's the actual trends and what's not. It's something that you can actually keep and maybe pass on.\"\u003cbr/\u003eEco-friendly design company Posh Graffiti is showing off their latest Christmas designs. \u003cbr/\u003eFor over twenty years Emily Readett-Bayley has combined her own British heritage with the best of Asian craftsmanship.\u003cbr/\u003eMany of the Christmas tree designs on display are made from recycled \"Faux Driftwood\" (coffee trees).\u003cbr/\u003eFar from being fearful, Readett-Bayley believes that recessions can bring out the creative side in people:\u003cbr/\u003e\"When we get a recession the nice thing about it is that people are forced to be more creative. I think re-using is very 'in'.\"\u003cbr/\u003eYoung British entrepreneur Dina Ghadamsi is showcasing her latest designs at the show.\u003cbr/\u003eDina founded her company in 2007 and has developed into a leading e-commerce platform, offering luxury gifts ideas at affordable prices.  \u003cbr/\u003eShe believes in good quality, longer lasting products:\u003cbr/\u003e\"I just think traditional has a sense of quality to it.
