No movement against the will of a nation can succeed, and they have tried it. The Russians tried it, and later on other people made the same mistake, and it didn't work because it was against the will of the people, the reason the Taliban made a big advance at the beginning was because they were showing that they were in line with the will of the people, they were supporting the people. But later on they chose a different line, they chose different actions and they started losing the support of the people.
