Amongst the many political, economic and social problems, there are risks to health. New diseases have appeared, whilst old ones have re-emerged and spread. It is a situation which highlights the issues being promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) on April 7th, World Health Day: emerging infectious diseases - global alert, global response. Ukrainian health authorities are adopting policies advocated by the WHO to cope with the rising incidence of sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases preventable by
