Wide of colourfully decorated entrance to cemetery\u003cbr/\u003eDay of the Dead celebrations continued in Latin America on Wednesday, with colourful rituals and processions taking place across the region.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Brazil, hundreds of Rio de Janeiro residents dressed up as zombies and paraded alongside the famous Ipanema beach. \u003cbr/\u003eUnlike in other Latin American countries where the day is full of festivities, Brazil does not traditionally celebrate Day of the Dead.\u003cbr/\u003eThis was Brazil's first ever 'zombie walk', although similar events, where participants re-enact scenes from their favourite zombie movies and television shows, have been held in other cities across the world.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We're just playing, we're all good people, we are peaceful, it's very nice,\" said Susie Santos, a participant in the zombie walk.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Mexico, visitors crowded graveyards across the country to bring food, flowers and other items thought to be liked by dead family members.\u003cbr/\u003eFamilies use the occasion to lay flowers and tidy graves, and to hold graveside picnics to revive the spirits of deceased relatives.\u003cbr/\u003eAlma Hernandez, who was visiting a graveyard in the north-western city of Culiacan, said the traditions reflected Mexicans' respect for death.\u003cbr/\u003eMaria Delgado visited the \"Dolores Cemetery' in Mexico City with her daughter and son to clean her late husband's grave, decorate it with marigolds and remember him.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I swept his grave and we brought flowers so his grave is decorated. They bury them and forget about them,\" said Delgado.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Day of the Dead holiday in Mexico is dedicated to remembering those who have died and takes place each year on 2 November. \u003cbr/\u003eFor many Mexicans this ancient tradition is very important and must continue to be celebrated. \u003cbr/\u003eArchitect Alejandro Flores visited the graveyard with his family to pay respects to the memory of his late grandmother.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Our country has a lot of traditions which are unique in the world, and one way or another we Mexicans must preserve them,\" said
