Bush flew over New Orleans on Friday, to survey the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.\u003cbr/\u003eHis helicopter circled several times around the flooded city''s Superdome, where an estimated 8,000 to 10,000\u003cbr/\u003epeople were still waiting to be evacuated, most of them were jammed on ramps leading out from the arena.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe president then flew over the waterfront area of the besieged city, stopping at the infamous 17th street levee which broke on Tuesday.\u003cbr/\u003eA crew of Army Corps of Engineers and local construction workers are attempting to close the gaping hole in the levee.\u003cbr/\u003eThe president spent about 45 minutes in the air over the city.
