The week of fashion shows in Rio de Janeiro is attracting around 80 thousand people to watch the catwalks of the 2006 Spring-Summer Collections. \u003cbr/\u003eGetting ready for her second catwalk in this season of the fashion shows in Rio, the Brazilian Top Model Caroline Ribeiro, 26 years old, spoke about the collection of the label Lei Basica. The model that was chosen to substitute Cindy Crawford for the campaigns of Revlon, and that also done campaigns for Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Victoria´s Secret, said that the collection of Lei Basica is really wearable. \u003cbr/\u003eCaroline Ribeiro opened the fashion show of Lei Basica wearing a dark blue outfit with embroideries. The fashion show was a homage to the north-eastern region of Brazil, with the presence of a live band that is traditional from that part of the country. \u003cbr/\u003ePopular xylograph that is a type of art traditionally associated with literary leaflets or booklets hung by string was the theme of the collection. Based on wood-carved designs and manually elaborated prints, this language reveals the main themes of life and culture of the north-eastern region of the country. \u003cbr/\u003eUsing fabrics like voil, cotton fabric with silk threads, Peruvian cotton knitted fabric, georgette, chambray and jeans, the label Lei Basica showed a collection that remembered the nights of remote interior land. \u003cbr/\u003eThe colours were egg yellow, sand yellow, chalk colour, coral and carbon. As extra attraction in the collection, embroideries with cotton threads, Richilieu designs, crochet and pieces of mirror. \u003cbr/\u003eFor the Fashion Stylist of Lei Basica, Ronaldo Fraga, it´s time for the Brazilian designers to get inspired by they rich Brazilian culture. \u003cbr/\u003eThe most awaited fashion show of the day was the one of the beach wear label Blue Man. Famous with youth Brazilian people, Blue Man was the first ever beach wear label to export to Europe and the United States, back to 1974. Nowadays, the label export the bikinis, swimsuits and swim trunks to 12 countries around the world. \u003cbr/\u003eThe fashion show of Blue Man was a homage to the colours of the French Painter Matisse. The fashion show opened with a group of children playing as if they were on the beach. Soon, the outfits that every Brazilian women loves to wear on the beach started to appear. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Brazilian Top Model Isabeli Fontana - considered the number two in the world at the moment - opened the fashion show wearing a jeans bikini with laces. \u003cbr/\u003eFrom cool to warm tones, all organic life bursts into a vibrant circle of colourful structures, meticulously present in Matisse, an impassioned genius of colour. The 2006 summer for Blue Man will present its colour plate, lines and forms, suave studies for a subtle, sophisticated appearance on Brazilian beaches. \u003cbr/\u003eBodyshorts, swimming trunks and bikinis with floral motifs were part of the collection, that brought light, free flowing, sexy and involving beach wear outfits. Using piquet textures with the colour of the sands, and working on the knit with lycra yarns without forgetting the jeans - that this time was super washed with prints added, mostly in bikinis - the collection was the true face of the beach culture in Rio. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the closing of the fashion show of Blue Man, with all the outfits together, we could see a wide range of colours that always have been the mark of Blue Man, a label that for the last 31 years is fashionable in every Brazilian beach and in beaches around the world. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Fashion Rio ends this Sunday, June, 19th.
