You know, a story like that happens every week now. Just a massive crush of it. I think there was a lot of resentment about what it created in the culture and some of that sort of rubbed off on me. And part of what I decided to do was really change my life. Take different kind of movies, change the pace in which I worked, live a different kind of life, I work in very different ways. You know, I would say I'm the luckiest guy in the world and I'm thrilled with everything in my life. I do wish that anything, I kind of got over it. I don't care anymore, I don't read it much, whatever people say about me is fine.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAffleck's romance with Lopez lasted just 18 months and ended just short of the altar. \u003cbr/\u003eMore than eight years later Affleck is happily married and very protective of his family. He and Jennifer Garner have three daughters.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I'm very guarded of my children's privacy,\" he said. \"My children are not public figures, they did not buy into this, I do not want them to be celebrities, I don't want them to be photographed, I don't want them to be part of the celebrity world. I want them to have an opportunity to grow up and have lives as normal as they possibly can. There's a natural, and I think very healthy interest in people's kids and they view my wife as an incredible mother, she's a very great, down-to-earth lady and I think that's interesting to people cause she's in Hollywood and part of Hollywood is so crazy and she's definitely maintained some normalcy. Look, I'm victim to it, too. I like to see people's children, I like to see how they're growing up, all that stuff. However, I don't want that for my kids. And I think that's a legitimate request. I know that I am fair game for all kinds of stuff, I've come to terms with that a while ago. And I try to balance that with my family and seeing my family, so I work a little bit less as well, because I used to just be compulsive about it. Now I want to spend time at home and I want to see what's going on there and I don't want to miss as much.
