What lovely diamonds!' after seeing Mae's jewelry.  \u003cbr/\u003eIn true Western style - she saucily replies - 'Goodness has nothing to do with it.'\u003cbr/\u003eAnd if being bad means big jewels - then West must have been a naughty lady for one of her rings, which is 19 and a half carats, is expected to get as much as $100,000    (U-S).\u003cbr/\u003eBut even smaller spenders could win at this auction.  \u003cbr/\u003eBids for a small diamond wristwatch start at around 2-thousand U-S dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eFor a bit more someone could buy an aquamarine and diamond fur clip.\u003cbr/\u003eA Sapphire and citrine suite are expected to bring in a  mere ten to fifteen thousands U-S dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eGlamour was not Mae's only claim to fame - her sense of humour and sassy writing style wowed audiences to this day.\u003cbr/\u003eHer career was a long one, too - by Hollywood standards - some forty years.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter her death in 1980 - her longtime companion Charles Krauser (stage name - Paul Novak) hung on to most of her belongings.\u003cbr/\u003eNow - following his death in mid-1999 - the world can share in some of the baubles that delighted one of the world's best known vamps.
