Various street scenes of Amsterdam\u003cbr/\u003eEurope has an estimated 20 million Muslims, making Islam the continent''s second largest religion.\u003cbr/\u003eAcross the region Muslims are looking to be an inseparable part of their adopted country while remaining loyal to their faith.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the Netherlands, Muslims comprise 6 percent of the country''s 16.5 million people. \u003cbr/\u003eNow one mosque under the leadership of a young woman is hoping to promote tolerance and understanding in one of the country''s most troubled districts. \u003cbr/\u003eYassmine el Ksaihi doesn''t see herself as a feminist rebel. \u003cbr/\u003eShe covers her head and wears modest clothing. \u003cbr/\u003eShe learned to read the Quran at age 5 and says she promotes Muslim values. \u003cbr/\u003eYet at 24 she is the administrator of a large mosque, an unusual position of authority for a young woman in the world of Islam, even in Europe. \u003cbr/\u003eThe mosque is a one-story building in a residential neighborhood but has no minarets, and serves as a centre where young people gather. \u003cbr/\u003eNon-Muslims are welcome here. \u003cbr/\u003eEl Ksaihi says that this mosque is a symbol of tolerance. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I think that the Polder mosque really contributes to the tolerance and cohabiting in society.
