Wide of students reciting Koran \u003cbr/\u003eReligious students in the Pakistani city of Karachi reacted on Saturday to the news that British security services had foiled an alleged plot to blow up as many as 10 jetliners flying to the United States from Britain.\u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking to AP Television at the Jamia Binoria religious school, students said that such an act had nothing to do with the teachings of Islam or Jihad.\u003cbr/\u003e\"This is not Jihad, this is not called Jihad.  This has nothing to do with Islam. Islam is a peaceful religion,\" said one student who is visiting the school from the United States.\u003cbr/\u003eAnother student also visiting from the United States said he condemned the alleged plot and that it was \"good to know that security is working these days.\"\u003cbr/\u003eJamia Binoria is a model religious school where thousands of students study islam.  It is also attended by nearly a hundred international students.\u003cbr/\u003ePakistani officials said on Saturday that they intercepted a telephone call from Pakistan to Britain urging plotters to go ahead with attacks on US-bound jetliners.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's thought the arrest in Pakistan of British national Rashid Rauf, a key suspect in the alleged plot and with alleged al-Qaida links, apparently prompted the call by one of Rauf's associates in Karachi to a suspect subsequently arrested in Britain, the officials said.\u003cbr/\u003eIt wasn't clear exactly when the call was intercepted, but officials have said Rauf - one of at least two Britons of Pakistani descent arrested in Pakistan - was nabbed about a week before the alleged plot was thwarted in Britain on Thursday.\u003cbr/\u003eAn informer working for Britain's security agency in Pakistan provided the tip that helped Pakistan arrest Rauf, said a Pakistani intelligence official,\u003cbr/\u003espeaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive subject matter.\u003cbr/\u003eRauf appeared before a judge on Saturday at an undisclosed location and was remanded into custody for further questioning, a government official said on condition of anonymity.\u003cbr/\u003eThe official declined to say whether Rauf would face trial in Pakistan or be extradited to Britain.\u003cbr/\u003ePakistan is a key ally of Britain and the US in their war on terrorism and renounced ties with the Taliban after the September 11 attacks on America.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the past five years, Pakistan has captured hundreds of al-Qaida fighters and arrested key figures in Osama bin Laden's terror network, but it remains of a hotbed of Islamic
