I think it's very exciting. There is, probably this planet is closer to a Venus to an Earth, but we're not sure. Wide of news conference \u003cbr/\u003eNASA announced on Thursday that its planet-hunting telescope has discovered two planets that seem like ideal places for some sort of life to flourish. \u003cbr/\u003eThey are just the right size and in just the right place near their star.\u003cbr/\u003eThe distant duo are the best candidates for habitable planets that astronomers have found so far, said William Borucki, the chief scientist for NASA's Kepler telescope mission.\u003cbr/\u003eBorucki talked through an animation showing the size of the planets and their inner planets. \u003cbr/\u003e\"There are three inner planets, one of which is the size of Mars. We look at the star itself, that star is two thirds the size of the sun, it's about one-fifth as luminous as the sun, but it's older than the sun,\" he explained. \u003cbr/\u003eThe discoveries mark a milestone in the search for planets where life could exist.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the past, when astronomers found exoplanets - planets outside our solar system - they have not fitted all the criteria that would make them right for life. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the Goldilocks game of looking for other planets like ours, the new discoveries, called Kepler-62-e and Kepler-62-f are just right. \u003cbr/\u003eThey circle the same star, an orange dwarf, and are next to each other - closer together than Earth and its neighbour Mars.\u003cbr/\u003eThe planets are slightly wider than Earth, but not too big. Kepler-62-e is a bit warm, like a Hawaiian world and Kepler-62-f is a bit chilly, more Alaskan, Borucki said.\u003cbr/\u003e\"So if you land on the other one don't take off your space suit, because it's not very good for us to breathe more than one bar, or a lot of CO2, we'll have to get some masks to do that. Astronomy.\u003cbr/\u003eMany planets are not in the habitable zone - where it's not too hot and not too cold for liquid water. \u003cbr/\u003eAnd until now, the handful of planets astronomers found in that ideal zone, were just too big. \u003cbr/\u003eThose are likely to be gas balls like Neptune and that's not suitable for life.\u003cbr/\u003eSimilarly, the Earth-size planets that had been
