I told you last night, we hit the sweet spot, what we wanted was some place where the wind, where mother nature has cleaned the rocks for us, so we don't have to be totally occupied with doing that ourselves. And what you are seeing there, those marvellous, dark, snake-like features all over the ground, those are dust devil tracks.  We know that there are dust devil tracks on Mars. These are like little tornadoes, though they are considerably less violent than that. But they are good at swirling dust off the surface and cleaning off rocks. And we landed at a place that is so thick with dust devil tracks that a lot of dust has been blown away. And that's absolutely consistent with what we are seeing in our images.\" \u003cbr/\u003e8. We landed essentially facing south. There is one solution set for this antenna, which would potentially put the antenna beam, or put the imaging mast in the antenna beam.  And that would cause degradation of our link. And we do have another option, we can flip the antenna around 180 degrees, and we have determined the sequence of commands required to do that. And we've built that sequence and we are probably as we speak in our test bin validating this sequence. organisation wanted it to land.\u003cbr/\u003eLate on Saturday night, \"Spirit\" made what appeared to be a technically flawless landing on the Martian surface in an area described as a 'sweet spot' degrees to solve the problem.\u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking about the British led Mars project Beagle 2, Squyres said he had not given up on the mission and had spoken to project leader Colin Pillinger.  \u003cbr/\u003eBeagle 2 was due to land on Christmas Day after separating from the Mars Express.\u003cbr/\u003eSeveral attempts by NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter and by powerful British and American
