In nature it is, or at least was, a paradise isle.  But for its human inhabitants, life is far from heavenly.  Madagascar is one of the poorest nations on Earth and in trying to survive the Malagasy people often threaten the survival of flora and fauna.  Most of the people of Madagascar will remain poor for a long time to come, but there are some signs of improvement, often through international help.\u003cbr/\u003eVarious locations, Madagascar
