The result of a total of three minutes of severe interrogations were of immeasurable benefit to the American people. CIA Director Hayden has said that Muhammed and Zubaydah provided roughly 25 per cent of all the information that the CIA had on Al Qaida from human sources.\"\u003cbr/\u003e6. of House Judiciary Committee.\u003cbr/\u003eIn his opening remarks, Congressman Jerrold Nadler, a Democrat from New York and Chairman of the Subcommittee said \"The practices appear to have been more widespread and the legal justifications more flimsy than was initially reported\".\u003cbr/\u003e\"Evidence also appears to be mounting that officials at the highest levels of the administration might American people,\" Nadler said.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, Republican Congressman Trent Franks argued that the US had used the waterboarding technique \"only three times on high level\" detainees as those behind the 9/11 attacks Khalid Sheikh Muhammed, Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri.\u003cbr/\u003eFranks said that the three detainees were waterboarded for a total of three minutes, a minute each, and said the CIA Director General Michael Hayden said that this technique produced 25 per cent of the human intelligence the Central Intelligence Agency had gathered about Al Qaida.\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the witnesses at the hearing, former assistant attorney general Daniel Levin, challenged his comments. \u003cbr/\u003e\"If the subcommittee was informed that there was a total of three minutes of waterboarding I would suggest the subcommittee would go back and get that clarified because I don't believe that is an accurate statement,\" said Levin.\u003cbr/\u003eAnother witness Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff for Colin Powell, said more than 100 detainees had died in US custody, with up to 25 of them being declared homicides by the CIA. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I information from detainees.\u003cbr/\u003eThe United States has received worldwide criticism for using harsh methods against detainees in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba and Abu Ghraib prison in
