Wide top shot Council of Ministers, security, smoke from building\u003cbr/\u003eDozens of supporters from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party ransacked and torched the empty Council of Ministers building in the West Bank city of Ramallah, the seat of the Palestinian government, on Sunday. \u003cbr/\u003eThe trouble was in retaliation for earlier moves by militiamen from the ruling Hamas party, who used guns, anti-tank launchers and grenades earlier on Sunday to break up police and civil servant protests over unpaid government salaries, triggering gunbattles in Gaza City with security personnel loyal to Abbas.\u003cbr/\u003eThe earlier fighting in Gaza left four people dead, including a 15-year-old boy, and 75 wounded, including three schoolchildren and a TV cameraman, hospital officials said. At least 15 of the wounded were civilians.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Ramallah, the Fatah militants threw stones at the Cabinet building, before breaking in and ransacking it.\u003cbr/\u003eSome of the militants set an office on the second floor on fire, and soon the entire floor was engulfed in flames. \u003cbr/\u003eThe militants threw files out the windows and witnesses could see pieces of furniture being thrown about.\u003cbr/\u003eThe plumes of smoke rising into the sky eventually forced the militants to leave the building.\u003cbr/\u003eEarlier in the day, Fatah supporters had marched through the city, the seat of the Palestinian government, burning tyres and shouting, \"Hamas, out, out.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSince Hamas won elections and took power in the Palestinian government earlier this year, Israel and the West have withheld tax payments and foreign aid in an effort to force Hamas to recognise and stop attacking Israel.\u003cbr/\u003eProtests against the government have multiplied as salaries are left unpaid and the poverty deepens.\u003cbr/\u003eIn an effort to end the economic embargo, Hamas officials have tried to form a coalition government with Fatah, but the
