Excellently organised, flawless operations, excellent sports facilities, excellent team, wonderful volunteers, the whole organisation, the transport measures, the transport situation, the security situation, everything. And when we use the word dream, (it) means it's something that we wanted to dream and we had in our dreams that did happen in reality. This is it. News conference\u003cbr/\u003eAt her final news conference in Athens on Monday, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, the head of the Athens 2004 Organising Committee (ATHOC), spoke about how proud she was that the Games had been such a success.\u003cbr/\u003eShe said Greece defied critics who believed the Olympics would at best experience logistical flaws and at worst be susceptible to terrorism or other catastrophe.\u003cbr/\u003eTV channels apologised to ATHOC, Daskalaki said, and people \"started writing from day number one that they underestimated the Athens Games.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe International Olympic Committee, which oversees all Olympic Games, confirmed that Athens staged an \"excellent Games, excellently organised,\" Daskalaki said.\u003cbr/\u003eBecause of Athens, she said, the Olympic movement took a \"step forward.\"\u003cbr/\u003eDaskalaki has spent seven years actively preparing for the 2004 Games, and years before that planning Athens' bid.\u003cbr/\u003eAsked what her plans were now that the Olympics were over, Daskalaki said the time had come to bid farewell to the Olympic family and spend time with her husband and three
