If I were choosing between a 4K and standard issue TV, I would still get the standard HD TV just purely because of price. I don't think I would ever go 4K until it was just the standard,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eElsewhere, wearable technology is all the rage at this year's show.\u003cbr/\u003eHere, it's hi-tech bling. \u003cbr/\u003eCalifornian company Fashionteq have developed wearable technology through a line of smart rings, bracelets, and necklaces.\u003cbr/\u003eEach piece is designed to have a removable device called a \"Zazzie\" attached to it.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Zazzie vibrates and flashes a pre-programmed image - to alert the wearer that they have a message waiting on their smartphone.\u003cbr/\u003eThe gaming industry is also tapping into the wearable technology market. \u003cbr/\u003eCanadian company Thalmic Labs has come up with this Bluetooth enabled device called a \"Myo\" which works by sensing muscle movement.\u003cbr/\u003eThe armband takes the place of the traditional mouse and keyboard and its creators hope the development community will eventually design apps for more than just games.\u003cbr/\u003eOculus Rift are also present showcasing their take on wearable technology through the Crystal Cove Virtual Reality headset prototype.\u003cbr/\u003eWearable technology has even entered the world of parenting.\u003cbr/\u003eIt might look like other watches on the high street, but this Filip watch enables parents to monitor a child's location based on a host of location technologies built into everyday smart phones.\u003cbr/\u003eThe watch allows parents to have Dick Tracey-style phone calls with their parents and can even receive short messages.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Filip watch is priced at $199.99 USD.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile Radio France Internationale reporter, Thomas Bourdeau, isn't completely sold on wearable technology, he says some of them are promising:\u003cbr/\u003e\"There's a buzz word about wearable technology and watch, glasses and things, but I think for the moment we don't see it working so well. So, I think it's interesting but it's not really working but there's still all the fitness things and sport and that works quite good, and it's getting better.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAnother big trend at this year's CES is smart cars.\u003cbr/\u003eIf visitors have a spare $250,000 US dollars, they can buy this - the world's first commercially available driverless car.\u003cbr/\u003eUsing Swiss technology, this driverless car called Navia is now on sale in the US.\u003cbr/\u003eMakers Induct say the technology works with sensors to enable the car to drive safely without someone behind the wheel.\u003cbr/\u003eHere at CES, there's also major automakers getting involved with smart car technology.\u003cbr/\u003eThis Ford concept car is a solar-power hybrid.\u003cbr/\u003eIt uses solar panels on its roof to charge the vehicle's battery. \u003cbr/\u003eTo make the charging process effective, the company has even developed a Fresnel lens concentrator - which helps to direct the sun's rays onto these solar panels.\u003cbr/\u003eThe C-Max Solar Energy Concept car has a range of about 21 miles (34 kilometres) on electricity before a gasoline engine kicks in and extends the range to 600 miles (965 kilometres).\u003cbr/\u003eAlso at CES, QNX Software Systems - a developer of software platforms for in-car electronics - is showing off the latest dashboard technology using two new concept cars - based on a Mercedes CLA45 AMG and a Kia Soul.\u003cbr/\u003eQNX say that by integrating a driver's mobile devices into their cars, people will - in the future - interact with their vehicles in a whole new way.\u003cbr/\u003eEditor-in-Chief of Lab Reviews, Jonathan Roubini, says it's exciting to see technology entering every area of human life:\u003cbr/\u003e\"We're finally seeing what used to be just for geeks being applied to everybody. So, it's not just your PC user, your laptop user, in their office. Everything you do in your life, when you wake up, when you go to sleep and while you're sleeping, because we can even check while you're sleeping, everything can have technology applied to it and improve your life, basically.\"\u003cbr/\u003eCES is also not without its celebrity appearances, some more successful than others.\u003cbr/\u003eWill.i.am is best known for his musical talents, but now he's becoming the Chief Creative Officer of a company tapping into the growing 3D printing trend. \u003cbr/\u003eHe's taken up the role with 3D Systems.\u003cbr/\u003eThe musician says the sky's the limit with this technology:\u003cbr/\u003e\"The way a laptop changed your home, or a computer changed your home, a 3-D printer will change your home. It's not just for caders (sic, meaning people who design on a computer) and hobbyists, it's for people that just consume.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe singer also says the ability to create physical forms from music waves is very exciting:\u003cbr/\u003e\"So this grid is the waveform for \"I Got a Feeling.\" Now you can put an object to what was once just audio and frequency. You can print out the physical version of a waveform and make a bag out of it, make a shirt out of it, make a lapel out of it.\"\u003cbr/\u003eBut while the Black Eyed Peas star's CES trip went smoothly, another wasn't so lucky.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Transformers\" director, Michael Bay strode into the spotlight at this year's show to promote Samsung's high definition televisions.\u003cbr/\u003eBut this was one script that could not be written when the autocue failed. \u003cbr/\u003eIntroduced with a montage from his \"Transformers\" movies, Bay addresses the audience alongside Samsung Electronics executive vice president Joe Stinzano. \u003cbr/\u003eBut then stumbles over his words and says \"let's just wing this\" before walking off stage. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Excuse me, I'm sorry. I'm sorry,\" he says. \u003cbr/\u003eStinzano was left on stage alone, as Bay walks through a door at the end of the stage.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Hollywood director later posted on his blog: \"Wow!
