He learned something of their struggle for equality in rural India, where women traditionally take second place to men. And the President's willingness to join in the women's dance of welcome earned him even more friends.\u003cbr/\u003e0001 Mohini Devi and her friends really do have something to sing about today. \u003cbr/\u003eTheir community of eight thousand people has no paved roads, few jobs and chronic water shortages. \u003cbr/\u003eBut thanks to US President Bill Clinton, the village of Nayala is now well and truly on the map.\u003cbr/\u003e0016 President Clinton visited the village to meet the women who run a milk cooperative here.\u003cbr/\u003e0022 Not one to stand on the sidelines, the President joined in the dancing.\u003cbr/\u003e0030 But more important to this Women's Empowerment Program, he listened to heartfelt stories of their struggle for child care, higher wages and better education in a rural society where women are traditionally considered subservient.\u003cbr/\u003eThe women say President Clinton's visit will help:\u003cbr/\u003e0043 SOUNDBITE: (Hindi)\u003cbr/\u003e\"Something will definitely change for us.
