And  where there is potential well than accidents can happen.\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: First Officer Gavin McKellar\u003cbr/\u003eThe continent has had its share of air disasters. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the most recent of these, an Ethiopian passenger jet crash landed just off the  Comoros coast in November last year, killing 125 people.\u003cbr/\u003eThe plane went down after being hijacked and running out of fuel.\u003cbr/\u003eQuestions about security standards were asked afterwards.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to the Airline Pilots Association of South Africa, more fatalities involving  aircraft were reported last year in Africa than anywhere else in the world.\u003cbr/\u003eFifty-seven near misses were reported in the region during the same period.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"The International Federation declared the area critically deficient.
