Close of pull out \"Antonio\" tattoo on Melanie Griffith's arm to Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith\u003cbr/\u003eCelebrities are no strangers to changing the way they look and ever changing hair styles, fashion styles, losing weight and cosmetic surgery have long been associated with the rich and famous. \u003cbr/\u003eIn recent years, a trend for tattoos has also become commonplace in celebrity styling and where they was once reserved for rappers and wayward stars, body art is now a staple amongst even the most mainstream actors, sportsmen, musicians and models.\u003cbr/\u003eSo with the increasing fashion trend amongst celebrities to ink themselves, AP Entertainment caught up with leading London tattooist and owner of 'London Tattoo,' Sparx, to talk about tattoo culture amongst celebs. \u003cbr/\u003eNow you may think stars are the trend makers when it comes to tattoos, but Sparx disagrees. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Without wishing to sound too horrible to celebrities I think a lot of the time celebrities don't have any original ideas strangely enough. They're the things that people come in here asking for every day.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, there are definitely certain trends that have escalated with celebrity endorsement. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I think that if you look at footballers and celebrities generally, a lot of the tattoos that they have done are that kind of name down the forearm, Sanskrit, Arabic, Kanji, symbolic languages and that kind of stuff so I think that they're probably the biggest trends,\" \u003cbr/\u003eThese days David Beckham is almost as well known for his body art as his skills on the football pitch, hitting the headlines recently when he unveiled his latest tattoo. The footballer lifted up his shirt during a charity match for LA Galaxy last month and revealed a line of black symbols running down his left rib cage, said to be an ancient Chinese proverb.\u003cbr/\u003eIn February this year the former England captain unveiled a tattoo he had dedicated to his wife Victoria Beckham which has the words \"Forever by your side\" on his left forearm.   \u003cbr/\u003eBeckham also has a tattoo of a bare-breasted angel on his left arm with the Hindi inscription of Victoria's name surrounded by stars and the names of his three sons; Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz. \u003cbr/\u003eHis growing collection of tattoos have undoubtedly had a huge influence on the general public with many people imitating his artwork.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The public look to newspapers, to media, to tv, to the football pitch, to wherever for their influences in fashion and trends and haircuts and all the rest of it. When Beckham had a mohican, so did everybody else and et cetera. It's the same with tattoos I think,' said Sparx.\u003cbr/\u003eAnother high profile fan of tattoos is actress Angelina Jolie, who famously had the name of her ex husband, actor Billy Bob Thornton, tattooed on her arm only to have it removed after they broke up.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever Sparx warns this isn't a simple fix for unwanted tattoos:\u003cbr/\u003e\"I don't think removal ever works completely because your skin's damaged. You can always see that there's been a tattoo there and I think, especially if you're the person who's had the tattoo, because you know it's been there you'll always in your head still see something there,\" he commented.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter Jolie had the 'Billy Bob' tattoo removed she tattooed over the same area with a series of geographical coordinates from the locations where her children were born.\u003cbr/\u003eJolie has long been a fan of tattoos and has over a dozen on her body, including a Buddhist Pali incantation written in Khmer script, the language of Cambodia on her left shoulder blade. She also has an Arabic script tattoo reading 'strength of will' on her right arm, a Bengal tiger tattoo on her lower back and many others.\u003cbr/\u003eGetting tattooed seems to be quite addictive with most people, especially celebrities, not stopping at just one.\u003cbr/\u003eIn an interview with AP Entertainment in January, R\u0026amp;B singer Rihanna said of her tattoos: \u003cbr/\u003e\"When I got my first tattoo I swore that would be the last one. I pretty much got four others in the year after that.
