Journalists at news conference \u003cbr/\u003eIran's judiciary spokesman on Tuesday said a US journalist detained about a month ago is being held in a prison north of the capital Tehran.\u003cbr/\u003eAt a news conference, Ali Reza Jamshidi said that 31-year-old freelance journalist Roxana Saberi is being held on a court order in Evin prison near Tehran. \u003cbr/\u003eJamshidi said he did not know what Saberi's charges were and refused to provide any further details.\u003cbr/\u003eIran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hasan Qashqavi said on Monday that Saberi was engaged in \"illegal\" activities because she continued working in Iran after the government revoked her press credentials in 2006.\u003cbr/\u003eRoxana Saberi has reported for National Public Radio (NPR) and other media.\u003cbr/\u003eNPR said on Sunday that Iran had revoked Saberi's press credentials more than a year ago but apparently let her continue to report short news stories.\u003cbr/\u003eSaberi's father, Reza, has said his daughter told him in a 10 February 2009 phone call that she was detained after buying a bottle of wine. \u003cbr/\u003eHe said his daughter had been in detention for 10 days when she called him but did not know where she was being held.\u003cbr/\u003eShe called him back minutes later to say she would be released in two days, but he has not heard from her since.\u003cbr/\u003eReza Saberi said his daughter, who has lived in Iran for six years, was finishing a book about the country's culture and people and planned to return to the US this year.\u003cbr/\u003eSaberi's father is from Iran, but she was born in the United States.\u003cbr/\u003eUS State Department spokesman Gordon Duguid told reporters on Monday that Saberi's status was unclear.\u003cbr/\u003eHe said the United States asked over the weekend for details, through Swiss diplomats in Tehran, but has yet to receive any response about the case.\u003cbr/\u003eDuguid did not have any information on why Saberi was arrested but said State Department officials have been in touch with her family.\u003cbr/\u003eHuman rights groups have repeatedly criticised Iran for
