Wide of Pahlavi     \u003cbr/\u003eFormer Iranian Crown Prince, Reza Pahlavi has a new job as spokesman for a nascent movement that is challenging the clerical regime to hold free and fair elections in its June presidential race. \u003cbr/\u003eThe US-educated prince, who declared himself Shah of Iran on his 21st birthday in 1981, said on Thursday that his Paris-based collective, the Iranian National Council, brings together tens of thousands of pro-democracy proponents from both inside and outside Iran. \u003cbr/\u003eHe said the council \"is calling for a major boycott\" of Iran's June presidential vote but that \"is not enough.\" A civil disobedience campaign should follow if elections aren't free and fair, he said. \u003cbr/\u003e\"This is an opportunity...to challenge a system that, if they were to refuse such a request, leaves us no choice but to organise a campaign of civil disobedience to ultimately force this regime to collapse.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIran's 2009 presidential elections, which gave President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a second term, were criticised for widespread fraud and led to major protests that were brutally repressed. \u003cbr/\u003eThe protests were the worst since the 1979 Islamic revolution that brought down Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi whose family has since lived in exile, along with millions of other Iranians.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe shah's son, along with the council, want to hold Iran to the standards of free and fair elections as set out in the Declaration of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a Geneva-based body which works toward peace and representative democracy around the world. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Iranian National Council elected Pahlavi as its spokesman at its first Congress last weekend. \u003cbr/\u003ePahlavi, who is not allowed to visit his native country has not suggested any role for himself in Iran's political system, but said he saw his role as one of keeping Iran on the international radar.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It has
