Street scene \u003cbr/\u003eThe launch of the latest and final instalment in the \"Harry Potter\" book phenomenon is causing religious friction in Israel.\u003cbr/\u003eThe synchronised worldwide launch of \"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,\" falls at 2:01 a.m. local time this coming Saturday, on the Jewish Sabbath, when Israeli law requires most businesses to close.\u003cbr/\u003eMany bookstores however are planning to launch the book at the appointed hour, such is the demand for the new edition. \u003cbr/\u003eThat decision has drawn fire from Orthodox Jewish lawmakers, including Industry and Trade Minister Eli Yishai, who has threatened to fine any store that opens Saturday, as Israeli law forbids businesses to force their employees to work on the Sabbath.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think it's a little 'chutzpah' (audacious) of them to open stores just to make money,\"  Knesset Member Avraham Ravitz told AP Television on Wednesday.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think these companies who want to make a lot of money, they should honour it as well, according to the law and according to Shabbat,\" he said. \u003cbr/\u003eBut Steimatzky, part of Israel's biggest bookstore chain, is holding a gala event in Tel Aviv beginning Friday night to launch the book, and the company has no plans to change the time.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We are required by the publishers to start selling the books at this time, it's an international time, that in Israel is at two am,\" said Store Buyer Nancy Ayalon.\u003cbr/\u003eThe chain has already received tens of thousands of advance orders for \"Deathly Hallows\" in English, with the book's Hebrew translation due out towards the end of 2007.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd local bookworms at Steimatzky also had plenty to say on the issue.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Maybe they should just be patient and wait until Saturday and open in the evening so it doesn't hurt the religious people,\" one boy told AP Television.\u003cbr/\u003eBut another one said \"I think that Harry fans that are addicted to the books should buy it when everybody else in the world buys it.\"\u003cbr/\u003eWorldwide, the Potter books have sold more than 325 million copies, have been translated into at least 64 languages, and have been spun off into a hit movie series.\u003cbr/\u003eThe book's author, J.K.
