with ever larger donations. \u003cbr/\u003eOffering sums of money and essential supplies, donors from around 25 domestic and overseas companies and organisations gathered at a ceremony at Beijing's Storage Centre for Disaster Donations on Wednesday to hand over their gifts.\u003cbr/\u003eThe majority of those attending wanted their money and medical equipment to be used to fight severe acute respiratory syndrome.\u003cbr/\u003eOne company donating devices for checking body temperature hoped its offering would make a helpful contribution to the running of college entrance examinations, scheduled for early June.\u003cbr/\u003eOther unusual donated goods included everything from traditional Chinese paintings to American fast foods.\u003cbr/\u003eGrateful for the international support, a representative of Beijing's Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau said the donations were a show of solidarity with medical staff and would also provide much-needed spiritual support.\u003cbr/\u003eOfficials from the donation centre said most goods and cheques would be distributed to hospitals responsible for SARS prevention and treatment in Beijing.\u003cbr/\u003eDonations to aid the fight against SARS are growing about 66-point-25 (m) million yuan (about 7.98 million US dollars) each day, to a total one-point-45 (b) billion yuan (about
