Willie Nelson presented with plaque from the Biodiesel industry recognizing all he has done for the industry.\u003cbr/\u003eWillie Nelson's 80th birthday party celebration continued with a benefit concert Thursday (6 JUNE) in New York.\u003cbr/\u003eNelson walked the red carpet at the Hard Rock Cafe and greeted his children and grandchildren. Four generations of the Nelson Family shared the same stage for the first time ever. When Neslon walked out, he greeted a long line of children and grandchildren.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Well, it doesn't get any better than that, to have the family here and everybody is here for the same reason, a good cause. It's good. It's good,\" Nelson said.\u003cbr/\u003eThis event kicked off the Hard Rock International \"Artist Spotlight\" Willie Nelson merchandise program, benefiting the Biodiesel Alliance and the Animal Welfare Institute. \u003cbr/\u003eNelson has been active on a number of issues throughout his career. \u003cbr/\u003eHe started Farm Aid in 1985 with Neil Young and John Mellencamp to raise awareness for the plight of the family farm. He is also active with marijuana reform.\u003cbr/\u003eOver the years, people have joked about Nelson's use of marijuana, but now his stand on legalization is becoming more of a reality.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I was definitely ahead of the curve. There was a lot of people ahead of the same curve about the same time that I was. There's a lot of us old hippies around. But it took time and it took a lot of different things. The organization works to end the suffering of animals in cruel factory farms, which raise and slaughter pigs, cows, chickens and other animals.\u003cbr/\u003eNow his children are carrying on the same spirit. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I think we're all examples, you know. I think people need people to follow. I had a lot of great examples, so that's what we need,\" Nelson said.\u003cbr/\u003eHis wife Annie added: \"They saw a lot of great examples. Not just us but the people they grew up with. You know, birds of a feather...\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe cast of the TLC reality show, \"Cake Boss\" was on hand to present Nelson with a huge cake shaped like a guitar. But the show's star, Buddy Valastro couldn't make it. So they brought a life-size cut for Nelson to pose with.\u003cbr/\u003eNelson has had many birthday celebrations over the past couple of months.
