They could face the death penalty if convicted.\u003cbr/\u003ePolice with batons cleared the court's entrance, striking at reporters and jostling opposition lawmakers and their supporters. Several people were arrested on the street outside the court.\u003cbr/\u003eSome western diplomats, who claimed they were also jostled and turned away, said they planned to protest to the foreign ministry.\u003cbr/\u003ePolice said the courtroom was filled to capacity, but lawyers inside said the public benches were virtually empty. Opposition officials said Tsvangirai's lawyers planned to protest.\u003cbr/\u003eReporters from the state media were allowed into the court precinct, and the US ambassador, Joseph Sullivan, was allowed in.\u003cbr/\u003eAnti-apartheid attorney George Bizos, of South Africa, who first represented Nelson Mandela nearly 40 years ago, is defending Tsvangirai and the other two defendants:
