Wide of sect woman walking to car holding child\u003cbr/\u003ePolygamist sect families began trickling back to the Yearning For Zion Ranch on Tuesday, exactly two months after child welfare authorities and law enforcement first arrived at the battered metal gate looking for a caller to a domestic abuse hotline.\u003cbr/\u003eThe more than 400 children seized from the west Texas ranch in April had been sent to foster care facilities across the state, so many families faced treks of hundreds of miles (kilometres).\u003cbr/\u003eWillie Jessop, an elder with the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints  (FLDS), said a few families with children had already returned to the ranch, though he was unsure how many.\u003cbr/\u003eOthers were expected, but some families were cautious about returning children to the 1,700-acre (688-hectare) spread they last saw when police clad in body armour raided the homes, school and temple looking for evidence of underage girls pressed into marriage and sex.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Texas Supreme Court ruled last week that the state overreached in the massive custody case by taking all children from the ranch when evidence of sexual abuse was limited to a few teenage girls.\u003cbr/\u003eFLDS member Edson Jessop, said his family intends to stay at the ranch even though it's unclear what some of his fellow members will do.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think most people as they learn to know us they'll see we're a little bit different than what they suppose. on.\u003cbr/\u003eThe criminal investigation is being conducted by the Texas Attorney General's Office and Texas Rangers; no charges have been filed.\u003cbr/\u003eParents began picking up their children on Monday after a judge, bowing to a Texas Supreme Court ruling, signed an order returning roughly 430 children to their parents.\u003cbr/\u003eChild Protective Services officials said 229 went home the first day, and many more were expected to be picked up on Tuesday, the remaining children, except for one girl whose attorney asked she stay in custody, were likely to be reunited with parents on Wednesday.\u003cbr/\u003eOne man who had collected his children from a shelter said that he was \"humbly grateful\" and that his wife was \"grateful also.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAt foster facilities in Amarillo, Fort Worth and outside San Antonio, mothers in their now-familiar prairie dresses, arrived to retake custody of their children. \u003cbr/\u003eMost refused to comment to waiting reporters.\u003cbr/\u003eSeth Jeffs, the 35-year-old brother of jailed FLDS prophet Warren Jeffs, arrived on Tuesday to pick up three sons, ages 8-12, at a boys ranch in Amarillo. \u003cbr/\u003eHe said the boys received good care at the facility.\u003cbr/\u003eIt was unclear how many families will return to the ranch in Eldorado, nearly 200 miles (322 kilometres) northwest of San Antonio. \u003cbr/\u003eAfter their children were put in foster care in cities across Texas, many parents moved to be near them.\u003cbr/\u003eThe families will not be allowed to leave Texas under the order signed by Judge Barbara Walther, and parents will have to attend parenting classes and allow children to be examined as part of any abuse investigation.\u003cbr/\u003eThe state removed all children from the ranch after an April 3 raid prompted by calls to a domestic abuse hot line that purportedly came from a 16-year-old mother who was being abused by her middle-age husband. \u003cbr/\u003eThe calls are now being investigated as a hoax.\u003cbr/\u003eThe state agency claimed that all the children were at risk because church officials pushed underage girls into marriage and sex\u003cbr/\u003eAn appellate court and the Supreme Court found the state overreached in its seizure of all the children, since it failed to show any more than five teenage girls had been sexually abused and offered no evidence of abuse of the other children.\u003cbr/\u003eThe agency plans to continue its investigation.\u003cbr/\u003eTexas authorities last week collected DNA from Warren Jeffs as part of investigation into underage sex with girls, ages 12 to 15, at the ranch. \u003cbr/\u003eHe has been convicted in Utah as an accomplice to rape and is jail in Arizona awaiting trial on similar charges.\u003cbr/\u003eThe FLDS, which believes polygamy brings glorification in heaven, is a breakaway sect of the Mormon church, which renounced polygamy more than a century
