Lauderdale, Florida.\u003cbr/\u003eThe proposal has already sparked criticism from one flight attendant union which says the move could undermine safety onboard.\u003cbr/\u003e\"If someone's on a phone they could be distracted but also importantly the passengers around them may not be able to hear our important safety announcements,\" said Veda Shook, the International President for the Association of Flight Attendants.\u003cbr/\u003eMost Middle East airlines and a few in Asia and Europe already allow voice calls on planes.
