Jackson entering the courtroom\u003cbr/\u003eSinger Michael Jackson arrived at court in Santa Maria on Tuesday, as prosecutors prepared to counter defence attempts to discredit his accuser's mother.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Monday, Janet Arvizo resisted answering questions by defence attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. \u003cbr/\u003eShe began her fourth day on the witness stand by making speeches to the jury.\u003cbr/\u003eJackson is accused of molesting one of the woman's sons - a teenage cancer patient - in February or March 2003, giving the boy alcohol and conspiring to hold the boy's family captive in an attempt to have them rebut a television documentary about the singer.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring another combative day on the stand Monday, Arvizo admitted that she once told sheriff's deputies that she feared Jackson had a plan for her and her family to disappear from his Neverland ranch in a hot air balloon.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, she accused Mesereau of taking the comment out of context.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors tried to counter defence attempts to discredit Arvizo by showing pictures of the woman with bruises she said were the result of a confrontation with store security guards who beat her, her son and her former husband in an incident that predated the family meeting Jackson.\u003cbr/\u003eThe defence has suggested the incident was a scheme to get money through a lawsuit. Arvizo received a settlement of 150-thousand US dollars from the store.
