Various Candy playing with Mashmellow \u003cbr/\u003ePet dogs in Hong Kong are being converted to Buddhism.\u003cbr/\u003eOwners, worried about their pet's life after death, are introducing their dogs to the Buddhist faith in the hope that they will enter the \"Place of Great Bliss\" after they die.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's a hot, sunny day in Hong Kong and these dog owners are making the pilgrimage to the Thai Buddhist temple in Tai Po.  \u003cbr/\u003eThey come here for one purpose - to make their dogs Buddhists. \u003cbr/\u003eDuring the ceremony, monks from Thailand chant for peace, blessing both the dogs and their owners. \u003cbr/\u003eThe ceremony takes almost two hours. The animal participants stay calm in such hot weather - the monks say their chants are good for both the humans and the animals. \u003cbr/\u003eMonk Phra Nathakom Nandhago says owners can pass on their Buddhist practice to dogs.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The dog automatically gets the training by the owner, if the owner has precepts, they also follow that way.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThere are five precepts in Buddhist teaching - they are abstaining from taking life, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, telling lies, and drinking alcohol.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"The owner have love, they also get the love and express the love. The owner polite, they always polite, always nice. It's kind of like the direct transcends. Whatever you behave, they take on. Like the baby, whatever you behave, you honest, you sincere, you care�..that feeling,\" says Nandhago.\u003cbr/\u003eThe worshippers believe that once the dogs have become Buddhists, they will be allowed to go to Sukhavati, known as the \"Place of Great Bliss\" in the afterlife. This means that they will be reincarnated quickly.    \u003cbr/\u003eThe organiser of the ceremony is Nelson Lam who is also chairman of Hong Kong Kennel Club. He says it is quite common in Hong Kong for owners treat their pets like family members.    \u003cbr/\u003e\"If they go, the grief that the owner experience will be no different from any family members, and that's my experience and many other dog owners' experience as well.
