a woman or a member of an ethnic minority.\u003cbr/\u003eRoberts has been on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, nominated by Bush, since June 2003.\u003cbr/\u003eIn brief remarks of his own, Roberts said he has argued 39 cases before the Supreme Court in a career as a private attorney and government lawyer.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I look forward to the next step in the process
