said he planned to wrap up the prosecution's case by the end of next week.\u003cbr/\u003eThe announcement came in the eighth week since opening statements. \u003cbr/\u003eOn Wednesday, jurors were expected to hear only a half day of testimony because of an abbreviated court schedule.\u003cbr/\u003eThe 46-year-old singer may have scored a few points with jurors on Tuesday, as defence attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. attacked the credibility of the mother of Jackson's accuser on her fifth and final day of testimony.\u003cbr/\u003eMesereau showed jurors pictures of the woman's bruised arms and thighs and hinted that these injuries may have been inflicted by her husband. \u003cbr/\u003eThe accuser's mother claims she was involved in an altercation with security guards at a shopping centre. \u003cbr/\u003eAlthough the store incident was unrelated to the child-molestation case, the Jackson defence team was trying to use it to show that the accuser's family had a history of making false claims for money.\u003cbr/\u003eJackson is accused of molesting one of the woman's sons - a teenage cancer patient - in 2003, giving the boy alcohol and conspiring to hold the boy's family captive to
