Sophisticated extremist groups have shown keen interest in acquiring nuclear weapons. In parallel, nuclear material and nuclear material production have become more difficult to control.  Energy security and climate change are driving many countries to revisit the nuclear power option. Nearly 100 civilian facilities around the world, many research reactors, operate with small amounts of HEU, but most of the functions could be achieved using low enriched uranium (LEU).  Research will continue therefore to address the remaining technical (inaudible) in order to enable research reactors to perform all required functions using LEU.\"\u003cbr/\u003e9. Sophisticated extremist groups have shown keen interest in acquiring nuclear weapons,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eHis comments came a day after an IAEA report confirmed that Iran has continued to defy a United Nations (UN) Security Council resolution demanding suspension of its nuclear activities.\u003cbr/\u003eThe IAEA's latest report, submitted on Wednesday, says that Iran has instead expanded its nuclear activities. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Nuclear material and nuclear material production have become more difficult to control,\" he told the conference.\u003cbr/\u003eElBaradei said the need for energy
