Shane Parsons.\u003cbr/\u003eThe two men shared a conversation, and Cosby even touched the area where the serviceman lost his limbs. After posing for pictures, he went inside the venue where he was scheduled to perform.\u003cbr/\u003eRoger Waters made his second consecutive appearance at the benefit, playing a set with a band of wounded warriors. Before the founding member of Pink Floyd took to the stage at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, he walked the red carpet to talk about the experience. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I've much enjoyed the last couple of days, been rehearsing with these guys,\" Waters said.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's always very exciting and demanding but it's very elevating to work with them. Sadly, some of the guys that I started working with at the beginning are still undergoing lots and lots of medical treatment and lots and lots of procedures, so they're still at Walter Reed (Army Medical Center). I noticed a change in them in a number of them. They're organizing events and I think there is something about the program they have down there that's works.\"\u003cbr/\u003eLast year, Waters played with 14 veterans, this year he's added a few more. \u003cbr/\u003e\"There must be six or seven guys from last year and then the others are new,\" Waters said. \u003cbr/\u003e\"In our front line, we've got Marcus. I think he's only eighteen years old. He's been playing bass for about six months, so we have a new bass player. The first guy I ever met out of this lot, who's an ex-Marine, his name is Juan Dominquez. Dom is his nickname. I met him in the Natural History Museum three years ago. There was this guy in dress blues in a wheelchair and I started talking to him. He was so funny. He's a triple amputee and he looked at me and went (pointing), 'you're?' and I said I am. And he went, 'wow, I play the guitar,' and then he went, 'well not much, anymore. But now I play the drums.' And he does, you'll see him on stage, tonight. He's absolutely staggering. He's great.\"\u003cbr/\u003eWaters also spoke of the set.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We're doing four tunes. We're doing one of my songs, we're doing a Leonard Cohen song, we're doing a John Lennon song and we're doing a Sam Cooke song and we're having fun with them,\" Waters said.\u003cbr/\u003eThe event benefited the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which helps returning veterans and their families, and featured Waters, Bruce Springsteen, Ricky Gervais, Robin Williams, and others. \u003cbr/\u003eWoodruff and his wife Lee spoke to media before the event, where they expressed their feelings for the cause.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I feel this is probably one of the most moving things I ever done in my life,\" Woodruff said.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Some people ask me if it's worth it, if you could go back and change this and not be on that sand when it happened but I think there's something to this that seems like we're able to do more than we'd probably ever accomplished if this had not happened. I hate to ever use the word miracle but it's been incredibly lucky that we've had to get through what we have and then have the chance, along with you guys here, to help them out.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe ABC newsman was seriously injured in 2006 when an improvised explosive device went off outside of Baghdad. He suffered head and brain injuries and spent 36 days in a medically induced coma.\u003cbr/\u003eHis wife describes that ordeal.\u003cbr/\u003eThere's so many moments when you don't know what you're going to reach for next to get through the day,\" she said. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Then you meet these families and you see that despite everything you're going through, they're going through more in some way because they don't have perhaps the resources that Bob's company behind him. There's always somebody behind you that needs help. Those were the things that kept me going when I was in the hospital in my lowest moments waiting for him to wake up.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSgt. Brian Mast was injured in combat and had to receive a bilateral knee amputation. But he's back to work at the department of Homeland Security, where he works as an explosives specialist.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Jon Stewart's going to be here. He came to visit us when I was still an inpatient in the hospital, so that was very exciting,\" Mast said.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Jerry Seinfeld is always really funny. We got to see The Boss in there practicing, so that was very exciting.
